YouTube Videos I am OBSESSED With: April!

Another month has come an gone and more videos have been posted and I have some good ones that I have been loving on this month and some that have been up for a while that I have just discovered! Real quick before we get going, if you have some videos that you want me to watch please feel free to put them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter. I would love to see what you guys like to watch.

1. Piece By Piece American Idol Performancee (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FHYBQxURQo) - This is Kelly Clarkson's performance of her song Piece by Piece and it is so touching. She is such a role model to me and she is a real person to the world. She is who she is and you can see that in this performance.

2. Die A Happy Man Music Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2CELiObPeQ) - This is a song that is gonna make every girl swoon. I love the song and I love the video and I have probably watched this video a lot in the best few weeks. Thomas Rhett just basically wrote the best song ever and the video is perfect.

3. Nyle and Peta's Samba (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy05I9fvJVM)- For those that don't know, Nyle DiMarco is competing on this season of Dancing with the Stars and he is also deaf. I am taking a Sign Language class in school right now and I have learned this is a big deal in the deaf community because he is doing really well! This is their dance from the Disney Week and it is pretty good! I absolutely loved it!

4. Disney Couples Medley (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9qrDeFNs_w)- This is different from the last Disney medley I posted about before and I will admit when you first click on this video it is a little scary but these two people are SUPER talented and trust me it take a while to get past the costumes but if you just open the video and then open another tab it is awesome to listen to.

These are some of the best videos I have found this month and I have had them open a lot when I am blogging or just hanging out in my bedroom. They are really awesome and they are made by really talented people and I just had to share them!

I hope you enjoyed this post and all the videos involved! Tell me your favorites in the comments or on Twitter. I also want to say thank you to everyone who has been sharing these posts! It means so much and I can't even tell you how much I appreciate it! I hope you enjoyed this and I will talk to you guys soon!

Orange County Speedway

So we all know that I like racing and that I will go anywhere to watch this sport. Well that still hasn't changed and got to experience a new adventure this past weekend.  You all know I am friends with Dalton Sargeant and his team so I decided to go to the race that they had in North Carolina this weekend considering I hadn't seen them since October! But I dragged my family three hours away to the Super Late Model race at Orange County Speedway which a 3/8th of a mile track. It is super small but full of excitement. When I got there it was time for qualifying for both series that were at the track, so I sat in the stands and anxiously watched the cars go around for their runs.

Once qualifying was done the track hosted a fan fest where the drivers all came out and sign hero cards and just hang out for a little bit. I think this is a totally fun concept for everyone. There is interaction between the fans and drivers and it is super casual. This is also when I got to see Dalton so that was awesome! But Dalton and I did get to hang out for a little bit so it was really fun to catch up and hear what was going on in his world. Christopher Bell was right next to us too so we got to talk to him too. But after fan fest was finished Dalton and all the drivers left for driver introductions and the races.

The first race was a very uneventful race. There weren't to many cautions but it was really exciting. With this being a very small track it gave the chance for a really fun race. Timothy Peters won that race and then it was time for Dalton's race. Yes. I was slightly nervous but excited too. Dalton started 6th and on the first lap he jumped into the top 3 pretty quickly. His car was really fast and a big contender for the win. He worked hard for 150 laps and man it was really exciting. Cars were bumping and banging and there were battles for spots. It was awesome! Dalton wound up finishing 3rd which considering the past few races he had run hadn't had great luck, this finish was awesome!

Another thing this track does that I personally really like is that after the race they open the track up to the fans. You can go down and congratulate the winner of the race, go on pit road, and even hang out by the haulers. I decided to go down and congratulate the 55 team on an awesome race.

While I was down there I got to see Dalton's PR, Van and hang out with him for a few minutes. He will deny it but he is a really cool dude and it was fun seeing him after meeting him in Martinsville. Let me tell you sometimes it is more fun talking to the crew than the driver but it may just be that this team is a fun group of guys. Either way they rocked the race and I was so happy to see them. I finally gave my last congratulations to Dalton who was very pleased with his finish but also very tired. He is also making his first ARCA series start this weekend so he might be excited for that. This was a really fun weekend that was definitely worth all the time on the road and the memories I made with my family were awesome too and I cannot thank them enough for taking me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and as always feel free to hit the +1 button at the bottom of this post and share it on Twitter! I can't express how thankful I am for all of you that read and I love talking to all of you guys too! I can't wait to hear from you all soon!

A Weekend in Martinsville

So as you all know NASCAR is a big part of my life! So that means whenever there is a race near me I drag my family with me to the track. So for the final weekend of my spring break I dragged my family and one of my best friends to Martinsville Speedway.

It all started at 4:00 in the morning on Friday and the whole family got up and packed up the car and headed to Martinsville which is a five hour drive from my house. But hey there was racing going on and I was not going to miss it and if you follow me on Snapchat you know how crazy it got.

Friday was the Virginia Pole Day for the Sprint Cup series and a big practice day for the trucks.
So when we finally got to the track I immediately ran to the track and into the stands to watch truck practice. When the trucks started I got really excited and pulled out my camera and started snapping pictures. Once the first few practice sessions were done, my family walked out and my friend and I remembered a teacher from our school worked on one of the trucks. So we sent him a message and got to see him and meet the driver of his truck. The driver is Brandon Brown and he drives the #86 truck. He is a really cool guy and super sweet so make sure you look out for him!

After we saw those guys we stood out and met some other drivers too and got a lot of autographs. One of my personal favorites we got to see was Mr. Joey Logano who drives the #22 in the Sprint Cup Series. He always has a smile on his face and he is so happy!

The next day was the day of the truck race and the day I got to meet up with Seanna. So we got to the track pretty early in the morning to see some drivers and hang out and meet up with Seanna. Once we were all together we watched practice and prepped for the race. When the race rolled around Seanna and I were standing outside waiting to see Ryan Blaney but we gave up and went inside for the race but I got a message and we went back outside and got to hang out with him for a few minutes. Seanna and I did make it back for the last 45 laps of the race but we did have some fun outside and I got to see Chase Elliott who I love. Again Snapchat knows how crazy it got.

Sunday came and it was the day of the Cup race. It was a very cold day but still one that was packed of fun memories. The day started out at the Ford display with me, Seanna
,and Abbie seeing people like Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney. It then moved on to going to the Green Flag Club and seeing some drivers talk about what they expected for the race and all that fun stuff. Not to long after that we were down on the track for driver introductions and if you followed me on Periscope you got to witness some of the fun. I also got to meet AJ Cook from Criminal Minds! Then they ran the race which was definitely one of the better races I've seen. I was sad to watch Kyle Busch win again but I will live.

After that it was sadly time to leave to go home. Martinsville was definitely the best way to end Spring break and it was a really great trip. It was my first weekend back at the track and it did not disappoint (except for Kyle Busch winning twice but what can you do?). Of course I can't wait to be back at a race for another fun weekend.

I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram to see some of the pictures I got from driver intros and of the cars on track (I took 970 pictures and editing takes a while so be patient).

A little side note! If you have a Periscope and would like to chat with me sometime please follow me @mpoff_ and I tend to broadcast a lot on trips and at races so make sure you get on there soon because you never know when I will be on there on another crazy adventure!

That's all I have for you today and please make sure you are following me on Social media so you don't miss a new post or fun activity! All my social media is linked up top (if you are on your phone you may have to click the desktop view button to see it!) so I am easy to find! I will talk to you guys soon!

How To: Braided Bun!

So I have received a lot of questions lately about a hairstyle I wear a lot lately which is what I call a braided bun. The questions I have gotten are 'How do you do it?' or 'When do you wear it?' So I am going to teach you to do it and when the best times are to wear it.

So how to actually do the bun!

1. So for me to do my hair I prefer it to be straight. I find it easier to french braid when my hair is nice and straight. I also keep my hair parted on the left. People will tell you to part your hair on the middle but I feel the bun looks better when your hair is parted where you like it.
2. Once you have your hair where you can braid it, you start at the root and start french braiding down the side of your face and I tend to braid to the back of my head
3. Once you have a nice looking braid just twist the remaining hair back into a bun and use bobby pins to secure the braid and bun to your head to your liking.

I used a Bethany Mota video to help me learn to french braid (shocking I know) but it was super helpful and she shows herself  doing the braid do so I added the link if you need to see that (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1zBSMVuw_8)
      - She does do the braiding into the bun a little differently than mine but either way is super cute!

It is a little complicated when you first are learning and it is a little harder if you can't french braid but I really do love this hairstyle.

I tend to wear my hair like this on multiple occasions!

I have been known to wear it a lot at races or sporting events. It is just good for keeping hair out of your face. I also have worn it to more formal events like prom or any dance. I do tend to wear it on days I don't want to deal with my hair or if it is a day I need a shower. It just keeps it looking nice and it looks like you put in a lot of effort on your that day when really it took a few minutes.

This hairstyle does have variations with it that I tend to use too!

You can always pull the hair into a ponytail like I did on the fun trip to Bristol when it started raining on us!

For this instead of twisting your hair into a bun I just left it in a fun ponytail that made it a little sporty and it saved my hair from the humidity!

You can also do a full braid with it. With this, once you have braided down your face just split your hair into three sections (the braided hair being one) and braid them together. Again it is a very sporty hair style but very cute and fun!

I hope this helps you and that you love this hairstyle as much as I do and if you do use this style send me a picture with the #MegsHowTo so I can see!

I hope you enjoyed this post and for everyone asking YES! I am doing a blog post about my Martinsville trip I just have to get it all written and school has been crazy but fear not! It is coming within the next few days! I will talk to you guys soon!
