Music Videos I Am OBSESSED With!

Hey guys! So I have recently found myself on YouTube watching a few of the same music videos a few thousand times while doing homework or just hanging out. These music videos just pull me in so I had to share!

1. Disney Love Medley (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLMeDUBKmBs)- This video was posted by Voctave and let me tell you I watch this video almost every day. The harmonies are amazing and the singers are beautiful and the video is just plain amazing! I highly recommend checking it out!

2. Love Yourself: PURPOSE: The Movement (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyEuk8j8imI)- This video is to the song Love Yourself by Justin Bieber and it involves two AMAZING dancers! It is part of the series of videos Justin Bieber released on VEVO and they are all amazing but this is one of my favorite songs so it is one of my favorites!

3. Down to Earth (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2g4TaJK2oY)- This is a complete throwback but I always loved this video and it recently made it back into my history and I love watching it!

4. King of New York (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrjcvD2zIBw)- This is where the Broadway nerd in me comes out but Newsies is one of my favorite Broadway shows and I was fortunate to see it for my birthday and this number is one the best in the show and it has incredible tap moves.

5. Something in the Water (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH9kYn4L8TI)- This video has been one of my favorite videos for a long time. I love Carrie Underwood and this song is just amazing! It is so powerful and the video is stunning.

I included all the links to my top five videos that I am in love with. Please feel free to send me your top videos on Twitter! I hope you get time to watch these videos and you enjoy them! I also hope you enjoyed this post and I will talk to you guys soon!

My Daytona Day!

So if you are a fellow race fan you probably celebrated the beginning of the season by watching the Daytona 500! We have a tradition in my neighborhood that my family hosts a Daytona 500 party and if you follow me on Twitter you got to see some of the pictures from yesterday! We definitely had some more detail in the party this year with decorations, food, and the unveiling of our newly redecorated NASCAR room! It was a fun day to hang out with neighbors and some people I don't get to see as often.

Fun Fact: I have known this girl 14 years
and I get to take her to her first race
I actually did get to watch a good portion of the race including the crazy photo finish. I thought the race was pretty uneventful but I did enjoy seeing the cars on the track again. I was bummed about Chase wrecking as early as he did but some of the other guys I root for did really awesome! I will admit I was hoping Truex would get the win but I am happy for Denny and his family! This weekend did not start with the 500 though. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series had their race Friday night and that was a crazy race! I was happy to see Austin Theriault do so well after his wreck at Las Vegas and see William Byron do well. I do miss seeing Erik Jones in the 4 truck but I think he will do well in Xfinity.  The Xfinity race was a pretty crazy race too. Seeing Chase be so successful and run well was awesome! I was pretty bummed for Erik Jones though after he got wrecked early on. It was a really good weekend and I am excited for the race at Atlanta this weekend. But to be honest I am super excited to make it back to a track. I miss the races and being there.

I also loved showing off my love of racing by showing off my remodeled room with driver plates and displays showing off my favorite drivers! I included pics below so you can see too!

So am I happy racing is back? Yeah I am. Did I have a wonderful weekend? Oh yeah I did! I enjoy the party every year but nothing beats having racing back.

I hope you enjoyed this post about my Daytona Day! I would love to see pictures of your Daytona Day so please send them to me on Twitter so I can see and I will be back soon!

My Story!

So a lot of people have been asking me lately about my blog and why I started it and why I do it. I thought I would take some time to tell a little bit of my story and the story of Rocking the World.

So on September 5th of 2015 I was really bored one night. I was editing pictures that I had taken on a trip I had taken to a racetrack and was trying to share my pictures and I wanted a place to write down all the memories I had experienced on that amazing week. So I talked to my friend Brittany who I knew had her own blog and long story short I decided to make Rocking the World.

When I first started I watch YouTube video after YouTube video trying to figure out how to make this blog successful. Then I created my first mini-series and that's when my views started to go up. I had more and more people clicking on my posts. I found the thing that liked to do which was sharing my view and my way of doing things for different seasons. It also gave me a way to think differently. I think about how I can blog about something and share the happiness I experienced.

Another thing about the blog people ask me about in the landmarking.  This little pose came from one of my role models but I gave it my own little twist and now I take picture like this one and it stands for amazing adventures I have.

Rocking the World started off as a place I could share my love for racing along with my love for photography but now it is a place I can be myself and it is a way I can connect with other people. It has turned into a new tool for communication and a place where all my memories are stored.

I hope you all enjoy this blog as much as I do. I love connecting with you writing these posts to share. You all are one of the best support systems whether it just retweeting a new post or writing a whole tweet dedicated to sharing my name and blog! I wish I could just give each individual a hug and tell you thank you. I don't think I will ever be able to express my thanks enough.

I hope the story of my blog has helped you understand this part of my story and I hope you all continue to support me throughout this journey. That is all for this post but I hope you enjoyed it and I will be announcing a new mini-series soon! But until then keep rocking and remember to connect with me on social media! I will talk to you guys soon!

Valentines with Megs: Last Minute Gifts

So Valentine's Day is Sunday! So if you haven't started planning your day or haven't gotten a gift for your special someone you are probably freaking out a little. But have no fear I have a list of last minute gifts that will make anyone's Valentine's Day successful.

1. Candy- Who doesn't like candy? Be cautious of your special someone's preferences and if they are on a diet this probably isn't the option for you.

2. Stuffed Animals- all the Valentine's Day animals are so cute and you are bound to find an animal that your special someone will love!

3. Plan a Cute but Simple Date- if you need ideas feel free to check my previous post with cute date ideas!

4. Make Dinner Reservations- places may be starting to fill up but I know there are some restaurants that are not completely filled yet!

5. Quality time- Make sure whatever you do that it involves some quality time. That is what this day is really about.

I hope you enjoyed this mini series and that you have a wonderful Valentine's Day whether it is with friends or your special someone. Make sure you tell someone you love them and just enjoy the day. Now if you have a mini series topic you would want to see me blog about feel free to send them to me on Twitter and I will definitely start working on things.

That is all I have for this post but I will be back soon! Have a wonderful day and if you haven't go ahead and give this post a like below and maybe share it with a friend.

Valentines with Megs: Valentine Cookies!

Hey guys! So today I will be continuing my mini series #ValentineswithMegs with a fun treat for parties or whatever you wish! These are sugar cookies that are amazing! I got the recipe off allrecipes.com and they are so yummy!

So what you will need is:
2 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup of softened butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The directions for the cookies are:

1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.

3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks

So after your cookies are all done now you get to decorate them! I personally like to cut my cookies into shapes and since it is Valentine's Day I would cut them into hearts. So once your cookies are cooked and cut comes my favorite part. Decorating!

With the decorating you can pick whatever icing and candy you want to make the cookies pretty and unique! Once you are all finished you can eat them and enjoy them and before you eat them all send me a pic using #ValentineswithMegs so I can see!

I hope you enjoyed this post and that you enjoy your cookies! Make sure you like this post and check me out on social media!
